About this size: 5–20 KB
A scan or phone photo of a signature is often 1–3 MB because of the paper texture. Cropping away the empty margins is the biggest saving, followed by the JPG quality. The tool does both for you: place the frame around the signature, press Resize, and it finds the best quality under 20 KB.
Everything runs in your browser, so your signature is never uploaded. The preset sets no fixed pixel size and the file size to 5–20 KB; you can change either in the options.
How to use it
- Drop your signature on the box, or click to choose a file. JPG, PNG, WebP and HEIC all work.
- The preset "Signature up to 20 KB" is already selected. Press "Use whole image", or move the frame to crop.
- Press Resize image. The tool finds the best quality that fits the file size.
- Check the preview and the size shown, then download the JPG and upload it to the form.
Features
- Exact size. Any shape you like, with the frame locked so nothing is stretched.
- Exact file size. 5–20 KB. Too big is shrunk step by step; too small is padded to meet the minimum.
- Private. Nothing is uploaded; the work happens on your device.
- All presets. Switch to any other form size, or use pixels, cm, mm, inches or percent.
Frequently asked questions
What if the file is still above 20 KB?
Crop closer to the signature, or retake the photo on plain white paper with even light. Shadows and paper grain are what make a signature file big.
How do I get the signature under 20 KB?
Choose the image, keep this preset and press Resize image. The tool lowers the JPG quality in small steps, and scales the picture down only if it has to, until the file is below 20 KB. The result shows the final size.
Does 1 KB mean 1000 or 1024 bytes?
Websites count differently, so the tool aims at 1000 bytes per KB for the maximum, which passes either way, and 1024 for the minimum.
Is my photo uploaded to your server?
No. The image is resized in your browser and never leaves your device.
