Reduce photo size to under 100 KB

Get a photo under 100 KB, with room for more detail than a 50 KB limit allows.

About this size: 10–100 KB

Two times the budget of a 50 KB limit makes a visible difference: faces keep skin texture, and text in an ID photo stays readable. The tool picks the highest JPG quality that fits, and you can type a different maximum or minimum if the form uses a range.

Everything runs in your browser, so your photo is never uploaded. The preset sets no fixed pixel size and the file size to 10–100 KB; you can change either in the options.

How to use it

  1. Drop your photo on the box, or click to choose a file. JPG, PNG, WebP and HEIC all work.
  2. The preset "Photo up to 100 KB" is already selected. Press "Use whole image", or move the frame to crop.
  3. Press Resize image. The tool finds the best quality that fits the file size.
  4. Check the preview and the size shown, then download the JPG and upload it to the form.

Features

  • Exact size. Any shape you like, with the frame locked so nothing is stretched.
  • Exact file size. 10–100 KB. Too big is shrunk step by step; too small is padded to meet the minimum.
  • Private. Nothing is uploaded; the work happens on your device.
  • All presets. Switch to any other form size, or use pixels, cm, mm, inches or percent.

Frequently asked questions

Is 100 KB enough for a clear photo?

Yes for a face photo up to about 800 × 1000 pixels. A larger scene with a lot of detail will need to be scaled down to stay under 100 KB, which the tool does automatically.

How do I get the photo under 100 KB?

Choose the image, keep this preset and press Resize image. The tool lowers the JPG quality in small steps, and scales the picture down only if it has to, until the file is below 100 KB. The result shows the final size.

Does 1 KB mean 1000 or 1024 bytes?

Websites count differently, so the tool aims at 1000 bytes per KB for the maximum, which passes either way, and 1024 for the minimum.

Is my photo uploaded to your server?

No. The image is resized in your browser and never leaves your device.
