What is the Image Resizer?
Online application forms for exams, jobs, scholarships and government services usually want a photo and signature of an exact size, such as 200 × 230 pixels between 20 and 50 KB. The Image Resizer gets you there in one step: pick a ready-made size or type your own, frame the picture, and set the file size limit.
Sizes can be given in pixels, centimetres, millimetres or inches; physical sizes are converted at the DPI you choose, which is also written into the file. When a KB limit is set, the tool finds the highest quality that fits, and only makes the picture smaller if the quality would otherwise drop too far. If a limit cannot be met at a required size, it says so plainly.
How to use it
- Drop a photo or signature on the box, click to choose one, or paste it.
- Choose a form preset, or set the size in pixels, cm, mm, inches or percent.
- Drag the frame so the face or signature is placed well.
- Turn on “Limit file size” and enter the maximum KB if the form has one.
- Click Resize image and download the result.

Frequently asked questions
How do I reduce a photo to under 50 KB?
Tick “Limit file size”, enter 50, and click Resize image. The tool picks the best quality under 50 KB. If the form also fixes the size in pixels, enter that too.
Why is my file a little smaller than the limit?
Some websites count 1 KB as 1000 bytes and others as 1024. To pass both, the tool keeps the file under the limit counted in thousands of bytes. 50 KB therefore means at most 50,000 bytes.
What if the form gives a size in cm?
Choose cm, type the size (for example 3.5 × 4.5) and the DPI the form asks for, often 200 or 300. If it gives no DPI, use 300 for printing or 100–200 for uploads.
What does “cannot be met at this size” mean?
At a required pixel size, a file cannot be made smaller than a certain point without becoming unreadable. Very small limits with large sizes may be impossible; use a lower DPI or a smaller pixel size if the form allows it.
My signature photo has a grey background. Can this help?
Resize it here, but for a clean white background use the Background Remover first, or sign on plain white paper in good light.
Are my photos uploaded?
No. Everything happens on your device.
