About this size: 200 × 230 px, 20–50 KB

200 × 230 pixels is a portrait rectangle, a little taller than wide (a ratio of about 0.87). The frame in the tool is locked to that shape, so what you crop is exactly what you get. The 20–50 KB range is tiny for a photo, so the tool lowers the JPG quality step by step until the file lands under 50 KB, then pads it up if it came out below 20 KB.

Everything runs in your browser, so your photo is never uploaded. The preset sets the size to 200 × 230 px and the file size to 20–50 KB; you can change either in the options.

How to use it

  1. Drop your photo on the box, or click to choose a file. JPG, PNG, WebP and HEIC all work.
  2. The preset "Photo 200 × 230 px, 20–50 KB" is already selected. Move the frame to crop the part you want; its shape is locked to this size.
  3. Press Resize image. The tool finds the best quality that fits the file size.
  4. Check the preview and the size shown, then download the JPG and upload it to the form.

Frequently asked questions

Why is a 200 × 230 px photo so small?

It is meant for upload forms and ID cards, not printing. At 300 DPI it prints about 1.7 × 2 cm. Keep your face large in the frame, with a plain background, so it is still clear at this size.

How do I get the photo under 50 KB?

Choose the image, keep this preset and press Resize image. The tool lowers the JPG quality in small steps, and scales the picture down only if it has to, until the file is below 50 KB. The result shows the final size.

Does 1 KB mean 1000 or 1024 bytes?

Websites count differently, so the tool aims at 1000 bytes per KB for the maximum, which passes either way, and 1024 for the minimum.

Is my photo uploaded to your server?

No. The image is resized in your browser and never leaves your device.
