App Privacy Policy Generator

Write a clear privacy policy for your Android or iOS app or website: pick the data you collect and the SDKs you use, and get HTML or text to publish.

Runs in your browser
About the app
Data the app collects
Third-party services and SDKs
Users’ rights and other details

This is a general template, not legal advice. Check it fits how your app really works, and ask a lawyer if you handle sensitive data.

What is the App Privacy Policy Generator?

Google Play and the Apple App Store require a privacy policy for most apps, linked from the store listing and inside the app. It must say what data the app collects, why, who it is shared with (including SDKs such as AdMob or Firebase), how long it is kept and how users can ask for it to be deleted.

Answer a few questions and this generator writes the policy in plain English. It covers device permissions, third-party services with links to their own policies, advertising, retention, deletion, security and children, and can add sections for users’ rights under the GDPR (Europe), CCPA (California) and India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023. If your app collects nothing at all, a short honest version is just one tick away.

Download it as a ready-to-host HTML page or copy the HTML, Markdown or text into your website. Your answers are remembered in this browser so you can update the policy later.

How to use it

  1. Enter your app or website name, your name or company and a contact email.
  2. Tick the data the app collects, or tick “collects no personal data”.
  3. Tick the third-party services and SDKs it uses.
  4. Choose the rights sections that apply and how users can delete their data.
  5. Copy or download the policy, publish it at a public URL, and add that URL to your store listing.

Features

  • Store-ready. Covers what Google Play and the App Store expect: data, purpose, sharing, retention and deletion.
  • 13 common SDKs. AdMob, Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics, Meta, AppLovin, Unity, RevenueCat, OneSignal and more, with policy links.
  • GDPR, CCPA and DPDP. Optional rights sections for Europe, California and India.
  • No-data version. A short, accurate policy for offline apps that collect nothing.
  • Four formats. Preview, HTML snippet, a full HTML page to host, Markdown or plain text.
  • Remembered. Your answers stay in this browser for the next update.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need a privacy policy for my app?

Google Play requires one for every app that accesses personal or sensitive data, uses certain SDKs or targets children, and in practice for almost every app. The App Store requires one for all apps. Your website needs one too if it collects any personal data.

Where do I host the privacy policy?

Download the full-page HTML and upload it to your website (for example example.com/privacy/), or paste the HTML into a page on your site, Google Sites or GitHub Pages. It must be a public, non-PDF web page that does not require sign-in.

Does this match Google Play’s Data safety form?

It uses the same ideas, but the Data safety form in Play Console is separate. Make sure the answers you give there match what your privacy policy says, including SDKs that collect data.

What should I write if my app collects nothing?

Tick “collects no personal data”. You still need a policy that says so, and you should list any SDKs (such as crash reporting or ads) because they may collect technical data.

Is this legal advice?

No. It is a solid general template. If your app handles health, financial or children’s data, or you operate in many countries, have a lawyer review it.
