What is the Passport Size Photo Maker?
Instead of visiting a studio, take a photo against a plain wall in good light and turn it into a correctly sized passport photo here. Pick the size, line your face up with the guide, change the background to white or light blue if needed, and download a digital photo for online applications or a sheet of copies to print at any photo shop.
Sheets are made at true physical size at 300 DPI, so a 35 × 45 mm photo prints at exactly 35 × 45 mm on 4 × 6 inch photo paper or A4. Requirements differ by country and change over time, so always check the latest rules on the official website before applying.
How to use it
- Drop a photo taken against a plain, light wall, or click to choose one.
- Choose the photo size, such as 35 × 45 mm or 2 × 2 inch.
- Move and resize the frame so your head fits the oval and your eyes sit on the green line.
- Optionally change the background colour and adjust brightness.
- Download the digital photo, or choose a paper size and download a print sheet.

Frequently asked questions
What size is an Indian passport photo?
Passport Seva asks for a 4.5 × 3.5 cm (35 mm wide × 45 mm high) colour photo with a white background, showing the full face from the front. Check passportindia.gov.in for the current rules before you apply.
What is a 2 × 2 inch photo used for?
US passports and visas, and some other visas such as the Indian e-Visa, use a square 2 × 2 inch (51 × 51 mm) photo. Check the requirements of the country you are applying to.
How do I print the sheet?
Download the 4 × 6 inch sheet as JPG and print it at any photo shop or on a home photo printer as a normal 4 × 6 photo at 100% size (not “fit to page”). For A4, print the PDF at actual size.
How should I take the photo?
Stand about a metre in front of a plain, light wall, facing the camera, in even daylight without shadows. Keep a neutral expression, eyes open, no glasses glare, and the whole head and top of the shoulders in the picture. Have someone else take it from eye level.
How does the background change work?
An AI model finds you in the photo and replaces everything else with the colour you pick. It runs on your device; the model downloads once (44 MB). For best results, start with a plain background anyway.
