What is the Discount Calculator?
Sales often stack offers: 40% off, then an extra 10% with a bank card, then ₹200 off with a coupon. Stacked discounts are applied one after another, so 40% + 10% is not 50% off. This calculator applies each discount in order and shows the real price and the single discount it adds up to.
Enter the price, add as many discounts as you have (percent or a fixed amount), and optionally add GST on the discounted price, as shops and invoices do.
How to use it
- Enter the original price (MRP or list price).
- Enter the first discount as a percent or an amount; add more discounts if the offer stacks.
- Optionally enter a GST or tax rate to add on the discounted price.
- Read the final price, how much you save and the overall discount percent.
Example
₹2,000 with 40% off, then an extra 10%
Final price ₹1,080 · You save ₹920 · Overall 46% off

Frequently asked questions
How do I calculate a discount?
Discount amount = price × discount % ÷ 100, and final price = price − discount. For ₹2,000 at 25% off, the discount is ₹500 and you pay ₹1,500.
Is 40% + 10% off the same as 50% off?
No. The extra 10% applies to the already-reduced price. ₹2,000 − 40% = ₹1,200, then − 10% = ₹1,080. That is 46% off overall, not 50%.
Does the order of discounts matter?
For percentage discounts only, no: the result is the same in any order. When you mix a flat amount and a percentage, it matters. Taking ₹200 off before a 10% discount saves less than taking it off after.
Is GST charged before or after the discount?
After. When a discount is given on the invoice at the time of sale, GST is charged on the discounted price. Enter the GST rate here to add it on.
How do I find the discount percent from two prices?
Discount % = (original price − sale price) ÷ original price × 100. For ₹2,000 reduced to ₹1,500, that is 25%. The Percentage Calculator also does this as a percentage change.
